About this Program

The ID&T program at the Darden College of Education & Professional Studies provides students with a solid grounding in instructional design, cognitive theory and research to meet the challenges of instructional design professionals. Our wide variety of course offerings are designed to give the graduate a strong background in both the theory and practice of the field.

Requirements

What are the requirements to apply for Instructional Design & Technology at ODU?

Students entering the Master of Science in Education program in Instructional Design & Technology should meet the minimum university admission requirements Graduate Admission.

Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
Have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.80.
Take and receive satisfactory scores on either the Graduate Record Examination (score of 290 combined on verbal and quantitative with a minimum of 140 verbal for regular admission) or Miller Analogies Test (minimum score of 45 or 399 for regular admission); and have an interview with the graduate program director or his/her designee.
Performance in classes taken as a non-degree graduate student will not be taken into consideration in the admission process.
